Zavolzhsk (Russian: Заво́лжск) is a town and the administrative center of Zavolzhsky District of Ivanovo Oblast, Russia. It is one of the towns of the Golden Ring and is situated on the left bank of the Volga River (i.e., in Transvolga), opposite Kineshma. The town is located about 200 kilometers (120 mi) downstream of Kostroma and 113 kilometers (70 mi) northeast of Ivanovo. Population: 12,045 (2010 Census); 13,455 (2002 Census); 16,530 (1989 Census).
