Piranshahr (Persian: پيرانشهر ‎ is a Kurdish inhabited city and the capital of Piranshahr County in southwestern West Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran. At the 2012 census, its population was 115,065. In the linguistic and cultural divisions of Iranian Kurdistan, Piranshahr is part of Mokrian region.
