Mutsu (むつ市, Mutsu-shi?) is a city located in northeastern Aomori Prefecture in the Tōhoku region of Japan. As of April 2012, the city had an estimated population of 59,591 and a population density of 69.4 persons per km². Its total area was 863.79 km², making it the largest municipality in Aomori Prefecture in terms of area.
