Maykop (Russian: Майко́п; IPA: [mɐjˈkop]; Adyghe: Мыекъуапэ, Myequape) is the capital city of the Republic of Adygea, Russia, located on the right bank of the Belaya River (a tributary of the Kuban). Population: 144,246 (2010 Census preliminary results); 156,931 (2002 Census); 148,608 (1989 Census).
