Kuznetsovsk (Ukrainian: Кузнецовськ, Russian: Кузнецовск) is a city in Rivne Oblast, Ukraine. Population is 40,872 (2010). The mayor of Kuznetsovsk is S. Anoshchenko (2010-current). The urban-type settlement was founded on 1973 as a company town of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. The new town was named in honor of the Soviet secret agent Nikolai Kuznetsov. The plan of the city reflected the ideals of late socialist realism. Part of the city occupies the site of the former village Varash, founded on 1776. Now it is one of districts in the city.
