Kavali is the second largest town in Nellore district on the East Coast of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh on National Highway 5. It is one of the municipalities in Nellore district. Its position on the Grand Trunk Road. NH 5 and the east coast railway track (both of which connect Chennai and Kolkata along the east coast) helped its growth, more than the other towns in the Nellore district such as Udayagiri.
