Kashiwa (柏市, Kashiwa-shi?) is a city located in northernwestern Chiba Prefecture, Japan. As of April 2012, the city had an estimated population of 404,252 and a population density of 3520 persons per km². The total area was 114.9 square kilometres (44.4 sq mi).
