Qarahunj (Armenian: ; also Romanized as K’arahunj, Karaundzh, Karahunj, and Karahundj) is a village and rural community (municipality) in Armenia in Syunik province known for archaeological siteKarahunj, considered to be one of the oldest observations in the world. Karahunj is located 4 km south of the city of Goris. The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported its population was 1,303 in 2010, up from 1,254 at the 2001 census. The name Qarahunj is derived from the archaeological site of Karahunj.
