Gwadar (Baloch and Urdu: گوادر; Arabic: جوادر‎) is a port city on the Arabian Sea in coastal Balochistan. Over the centuries Gwadar has been under the control of various regional and colonial states and since 1958 it has been under the administration of Pakistan. It is the district capital of Gwadar District in the province as well as its winter capital.
