Glanmire (Irish: Gleann Maghair) literally meaning ‘The valley of the small fish; The valley of the ploughed land:' The Still Vale: The Valley of the Young Fish) is a town in County Cork, Ireland with a population of 15,498. "Glanmire" is used by residents of the area to mean the Greater Glanmire area, encompassing Riverstown (Baile Roisín), Brooklodge (Cill Ruadháin) and Sallybrook (Áth na Sailí) areas. These are all four semi-distinct adjacent villages with many facilities shared between them. There also is an area outside Glanmire called Upper Glanmire, which includes White's Cross, Sarsfields Court, Ballyphilip, Ballinaparson, Coolgreen, Templemichael and Buck Leary's Cross.
