Botoșani (Romanian pronunciation: [botoˈʃanʲ] ) (population: 100,899) is the capital city of Botoșani County, in northern Moldavia, Romania. Today, it is best known as the birthplace of many celebrated Romanians, including Mihai Eminescu and Nicolae Iorga.
