Arkalyk (Kazakh: Арқалық / Arqalıq, Russian: Аркалык) is a city in Kostanay Province, northern Kazakhstan. Earlier, it was the centre of Torgay province, which was abolished in 1997. Today, it is the administrative centre of Torgay region, Kostanay province. Established in 1956, it acquired the status of the city in 1965. The distance from the town of Arkalyk to Kostanay is 480 km (298 mi), to Astana is 670 km (416 mi). Population: 28,169 (2009 Census results);45,736 (1999 Census results).
