Anglet (Gascon Occitan Anglet, Basque Angelu) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in Aquitaine in south-western France. The town's name is pronounced [ãglet]; i.e. with the final 't' sounded, unusually for French.
Anglet lies in the traditional province of Labourd of the Northern Basque Country, while its inhabitants, called Angloys, have been traditionally Gascon speaking.
