Ama (あま市, Ama-shi?) is a city located in western Aichi, Japan. On March 22, 2010 the former towns of Shippō, Miwa and Jimokuji from Ama District merged to form Ama. As of February 1, 2012, the city had a population of 86,708, with 34,092 households and a population density of 3140 persons per km². The total area was 27.59 km².
