Akhtubinsk (Russian: Ахту́бинск) is a town in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Akhtuba River (a tributary of the Volga), 292 kilometers (181 mi) north of Astrakhan. Population: 41,898 (2010 Census preliminary results); 45,542 (2002 Census); 50,261 (1989 Census); 30,000 (1968).
