Sremska Mitrovica (Serbian Cyrillic: Сремска Митровица, pronounced [srêːmskaː mîtroʋitsa]) is a city and municipality located in the Vojvodina province of Serbia, on the left bank of the Sava river. As of 2011 the town had a total population of 37,586, while Sremska Mitrovica administrative area had a population of 79,773. It is the administrative centre of the Srem District of Serbia.
