Dolores is a city in the Soriano Department of western Uruguay. It is located in the west part of the department, on the south banks of Río San Salvador, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) before it discharges into Río de la Plata. It is almost entirely surrounded by the populated rural area known as Chacras de Dolores.
